Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe → Chobe, Moremi & the Okavango Delta, Botswana
Embark on a transformative journey where the union of a yoga retreat and a safari in Botswana elevates the concept of adventure to unprecedented levels. This experience is beyond the ordinary; it's a harmonious blend of mindfulness and untamed wilderness that transcends the realms of a typical safari.
In this untouched sanctuary on Earth, where authenticity and rawness converge, imagine yoga sessions amidst the pristine landscapes, connecting not only with your inner self but also with the ancient and wise creatures that roam freely. The wildlife here becomes part of the yoga narrative, embodying the true essence of their existence in a symbiotic dance with nature.
As time seemingly pauses in this haven, a connection to a magical and heavenly realm becomes tangible. It's an opportunity to rediscover the basics of life, to truly understand what it means to be alive on this planet and to feel intertwined with something grander than ourselves. Here, amidst the very roots of creation, is where it all began.
Envision an atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era, where time moves at a more leisurely pace, and the wilderness is savored with patience. A safari in this untamed wilderness becomes an immersive experience into pure life, where the sights, sounds, and smells are untainted by the trappings of modernity.
In Botswana, home to the largest elephant population on Earth, witness these majestic creatures behaving as if they own the land – and, in a way, they do. As guests in their colossal home, devoid of man-made intrusions, you'll be enveloped in a yoga safari that goes beyond the physical postures to connect with the very heartbeat of the wild.
Our initial nights will be spent in a private permanent camp nestled within the vast, wild expanse of Chobe National Park in Botswana, where the sounds of the wild become a lullaby for the soul. The latter half of our adventure transitions to a mobile safari, offering an authentic African bush experience that surpasses the offerings of any safari lodge. We will adventure into Savuti, and Moremi, the heart of the Okavango Delta. This unique landscape, featured in National Geographic and BBC wildlife films, epitomizes the purest form of life on Earth. Join me in revisiting the most magical, incredible, beautiful, and wild place remaining on our planet.
Though words may fall short, anticipate an immersive journey into the heart of the wild, where every yoga session is an invitation to be present, and every encounter with untamed beauty is a moment of connection with the essence of our planet.
A journey into the wild. A return to yourself.
This is a high-level overview of our planned journey. As we travel to beautifully wild and remote regions, some experiences may be affected by weather, wildlife movements, or the availability of local communities. We ask that you come with a spirit of adventure and a wide-open heart—and trust that everything will unfold exactly as it’s meant to.
Some places stay with you forever—not just for what you see, but for what you feel.
Botswana is one of those places.
This retreat is for the woman who is ready to feel more alive. Ready to unplug from the noise of life and replug into something ancient, sacred, and untamed. This isn’t just a yoga retreat. It’s a soulful safari. An awakening. A remembering.
The Itinerary
June 28–30 | Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (2 nights) - Where awe begins.
We begin our journey at the mighty Victoria Falls, known to locals as Mosi-oa-Tunya, “The Smoke That Thunders.” One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, this awe-inspiring waterfall spans nearly two kilometres wide, plunging over 100 meters into the Batoka Gorge below. Its roar can be heard from miles away. Rainbows form in the mist. It humbles you in the best possible way.
Day 1 | June 28
Arrive in Victoria Falls and settle into your first taste of Africa. In the afternoon, we’ll take a guided walk through the rainforest that hugs the falls, lush, mist-soaked paths that lead to the most breathtaking viewpoints. Watch as water crashes down in sheets and swirls into swirling clouds of mist. Feel yourself exhale.
Day 2 | June 29
We begin our morning with sunrise yoga on the Zambezi River, floating gently aboard a private boat. As the sun spills gold across the water, you’ll move, breath, and simply be. The river teems with life, colourful birds in flight, elephants gathering at the shore, and perhaps even the rare glimpse of a rhino grazing along the banks. This is peace, in its purest form.
Day 3 | June 30
A soul-touching morning: yoga with elephants at a private wildlife sanctuary. These rescued giants roam freely in open space as we practice nearby, grounded in their quiet presence. You’ll have the chance to connect up close, offering them food, feeling their rough skin beneath your fingers, and witnessing their wisdom. It’s emotional. It’s humbling. It stays with you.
That afternoon, we cross the border into Botswana, a symbolic passage into the next chapter of our journey. Once in Botswana, we board a Chobe River safari cruise, drifting past herds of bathing elephants, grazing buffalo, and crocodiles lounging in the sun. The boat glides through golden light as we make our way to our next lodge, arriving just as the sun dips below the horizon and the bush begins to stir.
June 30–July 4 | Munga Plains, Botswana (4 nights) - Where the rhythm of the wild becomes your own.
Munga Plains is a secluded, eco-conscious safari lodge where comfort meets raw beauty. There are no fences. No frills. Just the open bush, the sounds of life, and the sky overhead. Here, we return to natural rhythms, waking with the birds, practicing yoga overlooking the vast African Savannah, and falling asleep to the distant call of lions.
July 1
We begin with grounding yoga, then venture into the waterways by mokoro canoe, a traditional dugout used for generations. As your guide poles the canoe through still waters, dragonflies buzz past, papyrus sways, and time slows. It’s meditative, dreamlike, and deeply serene. Later, we walk with local guides through a nearby village, sharing stories, smiles, and a glimpse into everyday life.
July 2
Begin your day with movement and intention, then set out on a walking safari, one of the most intimate and sensory ways to explore the bush. You’ll learn to read the land, follow tracks, and listen for life. That evening, we gather for a candlelit dinner beneath the stars, following a yoga session that blends breath and silence beneath the vast African sky.
July 3
Ease into the rhythm of the bush with a slow-flow yoga practice. Then, spend your afternoon learning the ancient art of Botswana basket weaving, a tradition passed from mother to daughter for centuries. It’s more than craft, it’s connection, patience, and pride. As night falls, we venture into the wild on a night drive, where lions hunt, owls glide silently, and mystery lingers just beyond the headlights.
July 4–8 | Mobile Safari – Moremi & the Okavango Delta (4 nights) - Into the untamed heart of Africa.
We take to the skies for a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From above, you’ll see elephants roaming free, hippos bathing, and the wetlands stretching in every direction like a living, breathing painting.
Then begins a journey few ever take, a mobile safari through some of the most pristine landscapes on Earth. Our small, private camp moves with us, offering the rare chance to sleep under canvas and stars, with no walls between you and the wild.
The True Meaning of Safari
Derived from the Swahili word for journey, a safari is not just about spotting wildlife. It’s about surrender. About moving lightly through untouched wilderness. It’s about letting go of control, following the rhythms of the land, and remembering what it means to be fully alive. A mobile safari invites you into this flow, each morning, a new beginning. Each night, a deeper connection.
Each day offers:
• Game drives at sunrise and sunset, when the bush is at its most alive.
• Open-air yoga surrounded by trees, birdsong, and wild stillness.
• Campfire dinners, laughter, stories, and silence beneath the stars.
We’ll explore the legendary regions of Moremi, known for its rich biodiversity and dramatic beauty, lands made famous by wildlife filmmakers and conservationists alike. Oh, and Penny, your guide used to live in the middle of Moremi working with a wildlife film crew, documenting a pride of lions for a year.
July 8–9 | Maun + Optional Elephant Add-On
Our final stop is Maun, where we rest and reflect after our time in the wild. For those who wish to extend the journey, we offer an optional visit to a baby elephant rehabilitation center. This emotional, heart-opening experience gives you a chance to meet and support orphaned calves rescued from the bush. Price for this experience.
This is not just travel. This is a pilgrimage.
To a deeper knowing.
To untamed places.
To yourself.
This retreat is for the woman who wants to breathe differently. Walk barefoot. Listen more. Laugh louder. Sleep deeper. It’s a space for slowing down, reconnecting, and remembering what truly matters.
The yoga is gentle, intentional, and optional, always there to support your inner journey, not define it.
You’ll return home not just with beautiful memories, but with something much more lasting: perspective, clarity, and the deep, steady sense that you are forever changed.

Flight Planning for your Botswana Adventure
Since our journey begins in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and ends in Maun, Botswana, there are a few different ways to arrange your flights.
In my opinion, Option A is the smoothest and often the most economical. You’d fly round-trip into Victoria Falls, and then simply book a short one-way flight from Maun back to Vic Falls at the end.
I also always suggest arriving a day early to get settled after your international flight. Should you choose to do this, I’d be happy to help with arranging the extra hotel night.
Suggested Dates:
-
Arrival in Victoria Falls: June 27th, 2025
-
Departure from Victoria Falls: July 10th, 2025 (with an overnight in Vic Falls on July 9th)
-
One-way flight: Maun → Victoria Falls (via Airlink) on July 9th
✈️ Option A (Recommended)
-
Book a round-trip ticket to Victoria Falls.
-
Separately, book an Airlink one-way flight: Maun → Victoria Falls (to connect to your international flight home).
✈️ Option B
-
Flight 1: Toronto (or your home airport) → Victoria Falls
-
Flight 2: Johannesburg → Toronto (or your home airport)
-
Flight 3: Maun → Johannesburg on Airlink (highly recommended).
Note: Avoid Air Botswana, as they are notorious for last-minute cancellations. An overnight at the Johannesburg airport hotel is also recommended for a smoother journey home.
✈️ Option C

-
Flight 2: Maun → Toronto (or your home airport)

About Chobe, Botswana:
Where the river runs wild and the elephants roam free.
Tucked in Botswana’s northern corner, Chobe National Park is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations—and home to the largest concentration of elephants in the world. Here, animals move unbothered, uninhibited, and entirely on their terms. The park stretches from the winding Chobe River to the sweeping savannas and teak forests beyond, offering some of the most breathtaking and intimate safari experiences you can imagine.
What makes Chobe extraordinary isn’t just the abundance of wildlife—it’s the feeling of being there. The way your breath catches when a herd of elephants silently crosses your path. The thrill of seeing lion cubs tucked beneath their mother in golden afternoon light. The stillness of a river safari as hippos peek up from below and birds in every hue soar overhead.
Chobe is raw and real—unfenced, untamed, and alive with rhythm and contrast. One moment, you’re drifting along the riverbanks at sunset, and the next, you’re scanning the horizon for leopard tracks on a dawn game drive. It’s the kind of place that reminds you how small you are—and how completely connected.
In Chobe, we don’t just witness nature.
We remember that we are part of it.
About Moremi:

This unique reserve is characterized by its lush landscapes, encompassing both permanent water channels and seasonally flooded areas. The delta's intricate web of waterways provides a haven for an incredible array of flora and fauna. Moremi is a habitat for a rich variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species.
The combination of diverse ecosystems within Moremi creates an ideal environment for both land and water-based safari activities. The diverse habitats of Moremi, coupled with its rich biodiversity, make it a sought-after destination for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers seeking an immersive and authentic safari experience within the heart of the Okavango Delta.
Oh, ya Penny also lived here for a year documenting a pride of lions - so you're in good hands!
What She Said - Reviews
"I came for the wildlife, but I left with a deeper sense of who I am. From sunrise yoga overlooking the Okavango Delta to connecting with incredible women from around the world, every moment felt intentional. I was nervous to join solo, but by day two, I had a tribe. Penny creates magic. If you're hesitating, don’t. This is the trip that changes everything."
– Norma, Ontario, Canada
This is not your average retreat. Penny blends adventure with mindfulness in a way that feels seamless. One day I was watching elephants by boat, the next I was meditating overlooking the African Savanna - It’s real, raw, and transformative. You won't find this anywhere else.
– Gayle Ann, Ontario, Canada
The itinerary flows like a story from the majesty of Victoria Falls to the quiet mystery of the Okavango Delta. But what sets it apart is Penny’s thoughtful care. Every lodge, every practice, every pause had purpose. You’ll feel it. You’ll remember it forever.
– Michelle, United States
Penny is the real deal. Her love for Botswana, her presence as a teacher, and the intention behind every detail made this trip unforgettable. I came hoping to disconnect, and instead, I reconnected with everything that matters. It’s not just a trip, it’s an awakening
– Elizabeth, Ontario, Canada
What surprised me most wasn’t the wildlife (which was breathtaking), but the deep connection I felt with the women on this journey and with myself. Penny creates space for truth, for healing and a TON of laughter. The best YES I have made.
– Arlene, Ontario, Canada
We came for the safari and scenery, but left feeling completely changed. This trip somehow blends introspection and play. Imagine waking to lions calling in the distance, then flowing through yoga as the sun rises. Every detail was intentional. Worth every cent.
– Marie, United States
What makes this different is Penny. She holds space like no one I’ve met. Whether we were journaling or laughing around the fire, she invited all of us to be fully present. I left grounded, wild, completely supported and fully alive. Book it, you’ll thank yourself later.
– Alice, United States
I was nervous to join as a solo traveller, but I felt so supported through the whole process with Penny. This group of women became family. I never felt alone, only inspired, and free to be exactly who I was. I am now leaving with a new group of sisters. If you’re on the fence, let this be your sign: do it.
–Natasha, Australia
This wasn’t just beautiful, it was awakening. I cried, I laughed, I found stillness I didn’t know I needed. Botswana worked its magic through Penny’s leadership and the sacred spaces she created. I wish I’d done this years ago. Now I want every woman I know to go.
