Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arrival in Paro & Transfer to Thimphu

Touch down in Paro and breathe in the fresh Himalayan air. Our journey begins with a scenic drive to Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu, stopping at the Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge—a centuries-old iron suspension bridge draped in colorful prayer flags. Upon arrival, visit the grand Tashichho Dzong, a striking fortress-monastery, before settling into your hotel.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2: Discovering Thimphu

Explore Bhutan’s capital, where tradition meets modernity. Visit the towering Buddha Dordenma, offering panoramic views of the valley, and the sacred Memorial Chorten. Learn about Bhutan’s rich heritage at the Folk Heritage Museumand witness the country's artistic traditions at the School of Traditional Arts. End the day at Changangkha Lhakhang, a revered temple perched above the city.

Day 3: Journey to Punakha via Dochula Pass

En route to Punakha, drive through the stunning Dochula Pass (3,100m), adorned with 108 chortens, and enjoy panoramic Himalayan views. Visit the Royal Botanical Park at Lamperi before arriving in the lush Punakha Valley.

Day 4: Punakha’s Hidden Gems

Marvel at the magnificent Punakha Dzong, a stunning fortress at the confluence of two rivers. Stroll through rice paddies to visit the whimsical Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple), dedicated to Bhutan’s “Divine Madman.” In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic hike to the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a hilltop monastery offering breathtaking valley views.

Day 5: Into the Tranquil Phobjikha Valley (Gangtey)

Drive through misty pine forests to the serene Phobjikha Valley, home to the endangered black-necked cranes. Visit the revered Gangtey Monastery, followed by a peaceful nature trail walk through the valley’s meadows.

Day 6: The Spirit of Gangtey

Take a village walk to meet local communities and visit the Black-Necked Crane Information Centre. If your trip coincides, witness the vibrant Gangtey Tsechu Festival, featuring mesmerizing mask dances performed by Buddhist monks.

Day 7: A Scenic Drive to Bumthang

Journey into Bumthang, Bhutan’s spiritual heartland. Stop at Chendebji Chorten, a beautiful 18th-century stupa, and the historic Trongsa Dzong. Arrive in Bumthang in the evening, where you can opt for a traditional hot stone bath for ultimate relaxation.

Day 8: Sacred Temples & Bhutanese Cuisine

Visit the ancient Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, and Tamshing Lhakhang, some of Bhutan’s most revered monasteries. Then, roll up your sleeves for a Bhutanese cooking class, learning to prepare Ema Datshi (chili & cheese stew) in a traditional farmhouse.

Day 9: Tang Valley Excursion

Venture into the secluded Tang Valley, stopping at the legendary Burning Lake and Pema Choling Nunnery. Visit the fascinating Ogyen Choling Palace Museum, offering insights into Bhutan’s aristocratic past. Enjoy a farm-to-table meal prepared with local organic ingredients before returning to Bumthang.

Day 10: Fly to Paro & Explore

Take a scenic domestic flight to Paro and dive into its historical treasures. Visit the National Museum (Ta Dzong) and the grand Rinpung Dzong, both offering incredible insights into Bhutanese history and culture.

Day 11: The Iconic Tiger’s Nest Hike

Embark on the legendary hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically on a cliffside. This 4-hour round-trip hike is one of Bhutan’s most awe-inspiring experiences. In the afternoon, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, before enjoying a traditional dinner in a local farmhouse.

Day 12: Departure

Bid farewell to the Land of the Thunder Dragon as we transfer you to Paro International Airport for your onward journey.
